A COFFEE BREAK WITH ME

  La coppia del 2023 Dopo nove fantastici episodi è terminata anche la prima stagione di “The last of us”, una serie tv così bella come non ne vedevo da anni. Ho iniziato a vederla avendo alle spalle l’esperienza di gioco di entrambi gli episodi videoludici e, se questo, all’inizio, durante i primi episodi, per me era fonte di curiosità per vedere come la vicenda era stata resa nel passaggio dal mezzo “videogame” al mezzo “serie televisiva”, negli ultimi episodi è diventato un peso. Un peso perché sapevo già dove la trama stava andando, riuscivo ad anticipare i passi principali della storia e non volevo fosse così; avrei voluto avere lo stupore della prima volta. Infatti le puntate sono talmente belle che invidiavo quanti mi dicevano che stavano conoscendo il mondo di The Last of us per la prima volta con la serie tv. Ho appena terminato di vedere il primo episodio di “The last of us” e devo ammettere di esserne rimasto affascinato. Per un totale di 85 minuti circa sono rimasto seduto senza staccare gli occhi dallo schermo, il che è davvero un’eccezione in questi tempi in cui ogni cosa può rappresentare una distrazione. Chiaramente sto guardando questo show con gli occhi di chi conosce bene entrambi i videogiochi e li ama. Quindi mentre vedevo ogni scena, sapevo già cosa aspettarmi dopo ed infatti se da una parte questo può eliminare parte del piacere, dall’altra fa sia rivivere l’esperienza del gioco, sia rispondere alla curiosità di capire come ogni scena è stata resa. Quindi è chiaro che mi piacerebbe davvero poter vedere questo show senza conoscere nulla della storia, ma ormai è impossibile. Mi piacerà però (e stavolta la cosa è fattibile) conoscere il parere sulla serie di coloro che non hanno mai sentito parlare del videogioco per capire se il mio giudizio è stato obiettivo.   In this last month I've been doing a full immersion in a tv show that I had only heard about before, but always underestimated; i'm talking about "The Office", US version. I approached this show after watching, under advice, a couple of very funny scenes and so I decided to start from the beginning and try to give a closer look. And so during my smartworking every lunch break and every evening my TV or pc was tuned to Netflix or Amazon Prime Video to watch a few episodes. Well I must say that I haven't regretted it at all, in fact I found all seasons always funny, very good characters especially as representatives of different types of employees (I know something about it being also a character in my "the office"), the dynamics always exaggerated but never too far from the real dynamics that you can live in an office. Nell'ultimo mese ho fatto una full immersion in una serie di cui prima avevo solo sentito parlare, ma che avevo sempre sottovalutato e considerato di serie b, The Office, nella versione US. Mi sono avvicinato alla serie dopo aver visto, sotto consiglio, un paio di scene molto divertenti e per questo ho deciso di iniziare dall'inizio e provare a dare un'occhiata più in dettaglio. E quindi durante il mio smartworking ogni pausa pranzo ed ogni serata la mia tv o il mio pc era sintonizzato su Netflix o Amazon Prime Video per vedere qualche episodio. Beh devo dire che non me ne sono affatto pentito, infatti, ho trovato nel complesso le varie stagioni sempre divertenti, i personaggi validi soprattutto come rappresentanti di diverse tipologie di impiegati (ne so qualcosa essendo anche io personaggio del mio "the office"), le dinamiche sempre esagerate, ma mai troppo distanti dalle vere dinamiche che si possono vivere in un ufficio.  Le stagioni in totale sono 9 e sicuram...

  Finally, I've seen the final and closing episode of this new season of "Dexter final blood" and I have some mixed feelings about how they've decided to end the story of one of the most interesting characters, in my opinion, since the boom of TV series, so, for me, since the post-Lost period. Personally, I have loved all the seasons of Dexter, but my favorites are the first 4; in fact, from the fifth season on, the stories have always repeated themselves in the same way with a pattern too linear and predictable. All this up to the first finale, that of season 8, unplanned and improvised. Many fans of the show felt the need for this new season specially to give their character a worthy ending. The question I now have is if this new ending was worthy? Without making spoilers, I'll say first that the strength of this season is to resume the human story of Dexter, who now is called Jim, ten years after the Miami events, and to do so in an original way, theref...

  Ho visto la puntata finale e conclusiva di questa nuova stagione di "Dexter final blood" ed ho sentimenti davvero contrastanti su come hanno deciso di concludere la storia di uno dei personaggi, a mio parere, più interessanti del panorama televisivo da quando c'è stato il boom delle serie televisive, quindi, per me, dal periodo post-Lost. Personalmente ho amato tutte le stagioni di Dexter, ma le mie preferite rimangono le prime 4; infatti dalla quinta stagione in poi le storie si sono ripetute sempre allo stesso modo con uno schema troppo lineare e prevedibile. Tutto questo fino ad arrivare al primo finale, quello della stagione 8, davvero improvviso ed improvvisato. Molti fan della serie sentivano il bisogno di questa nuova stagione soprattutto per dare al loro personaggio un finale degno. La domanda che adesso mi pongo è se questo nuovo finale sia stata degno?   I would never have thought it, but I feel the need to spend few words about a new Netflix tv show.  And I would never have said it because this show is animated and serves as a prequel to a videogame that, before seeing it, I had never even heard of.  The show is Arcane, available on Netflix since November 21, placed in a universe of a videogame - League of Legends (LOL).   The show made a lot of buzz and received a lot of positive comments. Thanks to all this, a second season has already been announced and will be released after 2022. But what is Arcane about?  Well, I'll summarize what struck me most about the story. But I don't want to give you a complete summary, but only few short thoughts in the style of this blog. Obviously, no spoilers.
