Hi, if you’re here, it means you liked what you found. I’m glad, so I’ll introduce myself briefly and tell you why I decided to start writing with this blog. 

I am Giuseppe, from Italy and my job has very little in common with blogs, social networks and writing in general.

I approached this idea through some reading or other blogs or listening some podcasts about what interests me most. So I decided to share some of my readings or, in general, passions with those who are interested in too. The best thing would be if this blog could become a place of exchanging ideas and experiences on common topics. 

The name speaks for itself, “a coffee break with me”, each article will require the reader the time of an italian coffee into the bar, so short, just enough to graft an idea and possibly start with a discussion about it.

Ciao, se sei arrivato a leggere fin qui vuol dire che quello che hai trovato ti è piaciuto. Sono contento. Mi presento brevemente e ti dico perchè ho deciso di iniziare a scrivere in questo blog. 

Sono Giuseppe ed il mio lavoro ha ben poco a che vedere con blog, social network e lo scrivere in generale. 

Mi sono avvicinato a questa idea attraverso alcune letture o leggendo altri blog o sentendo podcast su ciò che più mi interessa. Quindi ho deciso di condividere con chi interessa alcune mie letture o in generale passioni. Il massimo sarebbe che questo blog potesse diventare un posto dove scambiare idee ed esperienze su temi comuni. 

Il nome poi è parlante, a coffee break with me, cioè ogni articolo richiederà al lettore il tempo di un caffè al bar, quindi breve; insomma il giusto per innestare un’idea ed eventualmente partire con una chiacchierata.

THE OFFICE, una sorpresa inaspettata

Nell'ultimo mese ho fatto una full immersion in una serie di cui prima avevo solo sentito parlare, ma che avevo sempre sottovalutato e considerato di serie b, The Office, nella versione US. Mi sono avvicinato alla serie dopo aver visto, sotto consiglio, un paio di scene molto divertenti e per questo ho deciso di iniziare dall'inizio e provare a dare un'occhiata più in dettaglio. E quindi durante il mio smartworking ogni pausa pranzo ed ogni serata la mia tv o il mio pc era sintonizzato su Netflix o Amazon Prime Video per vedere qualche episodio. Beh devo dire che non me ne sono affatto pentito, infatti, ho trovato nel complesso le varie stagioni sempre divertenti, i personaggi validi soprattutto come rappresentanti di diverse tipologie di impiegati (ne so qualcosa essendo anche io personaggio del mio "the office"), le dinamiche sempre esagerate, ma mai troppo distanti dalle vere dinamiche che si possono vivere in un ufficio.  Le stagioni in totale sono 9 e sicuram...

La settimana bianca - un libro scritto magistralmente

Stavolta un brevissimo post solo per scrivere un paio di pensieri su un libro che ho appena terminato di leggere e che mi è piaciuto molto per almeno tre ragioni di cui scrivo sotto.  Carrere è un grande scrittore e credo che non mi fermerò a questo secondo libro (per me da lettore), ma che continuerò cercando altri suoi libri da leggere...ma ora ecco a voi perchè mi è piaciuto il libro: La prima cosa che segnalo riguarda la scrittura di Carrere, questo è il suo secondo libro che leggo, dopo “L’avversario”, e di nuovo ho avuto modo di apprezzare come sia uno scrittore straordinario. Riesce a catturare il lettore ad ogni tipo di storia. Anche questo romanzo, che almeno in prima battuta parte come una semplice storia di bambini che vanno in gita, inizia in un modo semplice, non di grande interesse per il lettore adulto, ma attraverso dei dettagli, attraverso la vita vera che trasuda da ogni pagina riesce a tenere il lettore con la testa bassa a leggere. DEADLY PREY GALLERY, or how to create original posters

  Today I want to dedicate the coffee break to talk about art related to cinema. The idea came to me listening, as every week, the episode of Cinefact's PODCAST ( https://www.cinefacts.it/ ), if ever someone from the Cinefact staff will come on this page I thank you for the 2/3 hours a week of cinema and relaxed chats that you give me every time. In the episode number 152, in fact, they talked about the story behind a series of movie posters made in Ghana by local artists to advertise films that were shown by "mobile cinemas" in the 80s and 90s and that today have become famous in the world of film lovers thanks to the interest of a Chicago art dealer who has made them known to the world and has also started to sell them.
